Andy Burnham can play a few basic guitar chords, though he is more known as a fan of guitar music than an experienced musician. He showed he can strum basic power chords and a minor barre shape during a chat with Stone Roses guitarist Aziz Ibrahim at the Manchester Museum.
He also famously took to the stage to handle an acoustic guitar and sing a bit of “Wonderwall” at a public event, though onlookers noted his playing was quite basic. He is a keen music aficionado and is a very vocal fan of Manchester guitar bands like Oasis and The Smiths rather than a professional player himself.
